Fiesta Filipino’s Youth Empowerment Program approached the project with the goal of creating a platform for youth to share their stories, reflections, and creative work. The publication needed to accommodate a wide range of contributions, including poetry, personal essays, visual art, photography, and affirmations, while maintaining a cohesive visual identity.

The team wanted a design that felt intimate and authentic, allowing each contributor’s voice to remain distinct while still functioning as a unified publication. The final piece needed to reflect the themes of identity, heritage, family, mental health, belonging, and cultural connection that run throughout the work.

The Awakening Voices publication was designed as a multi-section anthology. The layout balances structure with emotional openness, using thoughtful typography, pacing, and visual hierarchy to guide readers through personal and often vulnerable content. The design incorporates brand and program elements while prioritizing readability and a sense of care in how each piece is presented.
